Infographic: How Men Feel About Condoms in Porn

October 26, 2016 by Justin Lehmiller

How do men feel about the use of condoms in pornography? A new study published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior offers some insight. Gay, straight, and bisexual men were all asked for their preference when it comes to condom use in different kinds of porn scenes. For a look at what they said, check out the infographic below.

Beyond condom use preferences, this study also offers some information on men’s general porn viewing habits. This is interesting in its own right, particularly because it suggests that there’s a lot of “identity-discrepant” porn watching going on. In other words, it seems that a sizable number of straight men are watching gay male porn, while a lot of gay men are watching straight porn. This finding supports the idea that male sexual fluidity is probably more common than previously thought.
